Preparing for your travel can be a very stressful, making sure that you have everything you need for your vacation. When traveling abroad it is even harder because you have to prepare things in different languages making sure that all of your hotels or hostels are organized and that you have a cellphone works while you are abroad for emergencies.
#1 Get a passport or Visa
Getting a Passport is the easiest way for someone to get ready all you have to do is go to your local post office and fill out a a couple of long documents and then make a appointment with them. If the document is filled out correctly then all you have to do is wait about two weeks and pay a small fee then you will have passport in the mail. The more difficult approach is depends on where you are traveling to in the world. Some countries require you to have visas for you can visit the country, for tourism or business this makes it a little more difficult. Depending on where you live in the United States and where you want to go all you have to do is fill out some more paper work about your trip and to make sure that you have enough money to support your vacation while you are away. For some states this is very difficult because the Embassies for these countries are far away making it very difficult to stop by and drop off documents so there are many companies that you can contact and they will make it easier on you to get a visa this is a great idea if you are in a hurry to get somewhere. Yeah step one complete. So now you are allowed from both countries governments to visit them.
#2 Find out where to Stay
Finding a Hotel or a Hostel Abroad sometimes can be very difficult depending on the time of year. Do not expect to just drive up and expect to have a place to stay in a lot of cities especially during the summer. Hotels get full fast in summer because everyone is taking holidays at the same time or there could be an event going on where you are going it is always safer to plan in advance. Most hotels around the world know English or can at least get by with English making it easy to call and make a reservation. You will be glad you booked your hotel early for you will be sleeping in the next town instead of the city you really wanted to see.
Make sure that you have all of the appropriate equipment to make the vacation you are planning. For an example you are planning on walking a lot buy new shoes and test them out. You do not want something to bother you while you are on vacation. Having a the right suitcase or backpack is also necessary moving around your stuff as easy as possible. If you plan on visiting several cities in that country it is better to have better equipment to do this very easily. I would also research the country to make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into. This is always helpful of knowing what to buy and bring with you.
Having a first aid kit is important when you are abroad but while you are vacationing through different countries and cultures it is always a drag not to have the night medicine that you need for what illness you have. I recommend bringing a little bit of each aspirin, allergy medicine, diarrhea medication, just to name a few. These different cultures with food and other things you will never know how it is expecting to affect your body it always better to be prepared then to lay in bed sick and miss some of your amazing vacation.
#5 Last Minute Stuff
Making sure that you are ready the night before just go through everything even though you already packed take it all out and make sure that everything on your list is there and go through a plan of worst case scenarios of what if this happens and if this happens. Like if there is no one to pick me up from the airport when i arrive what do I do. I know that it sounds silly but when that situation does happen it makes you feel a lot better and prepared. Do you have your ticket and passport and do the most important thing which is to have fun!
