Getting Ready for Airport Standards
August 22, 2011 in Traveling news
Airports restrictions are always changing and you are not up to date or have not traveled a while you might not be ready for all of the new restrictions airports have put on flying. One of the most important things that you can do at home to prepare for taking a plane is to make sure that you luggage is not to heavy. The restriction is 50 lbs, which is not a lot if you are planning to travel for a long period of time. So you might want to think about bringing a larger carry on item or checking a second bag. However for the carry on item it has a size restriction it can only be 22″ x 14″ x 9″ with a small hand bag such as for a lab top or a women’s purse. The second small hand bag should be placed under the seat in front of you while you are on the plane unless there is extra space in the over head departments.
There is the obvious things that you can not go through security with like a knife or a beer but airlines today have restrictions on the amount of fluid that you are allowed to bring on a plane with you today the limit is 3.4oz so might want to think about packing your perfume or cologne on your checked bag. They also require you to take of your shoes while going through security and put your lab tops in the separate tray to be scanned. Your liquids should be placed in a zip lock bag and placed in the tray also. It is more important now then ever to make sure that you make sure that you have no metal when you go through the metal detector because they choose passengers randomly to go through a body scanner, security is getting tighter at most international airports be ready for things to change and adapt to other things sometime soon.
So some recommendations to make it easier to go through security at airports is make sure that you where shoes that are easily to get on and off and pack your laptop and liquid zip lock baggy in a easy accessible place to make sure that going through security is easier. Have your boarding pass and passport or ID in hand to make sure that you are ready when it is your turn to be checked.
Travelers Welcome hopes that you get through security safily and nothing has will slow you down while you are in the airport.
